This week we are pleased to announce Sophia Levas, a senior at Pewaukee High School, as our Superhero of the Week!
A dedicated scholar, Sophia has been a high honors student since her freshman year. Currently, she holds a 4.065 GPA and is involved in numerous extracurricular activities and community involvement. Specifically, some of those extracurriculars include varsity golf, varsity robotics, key club, rock climbing, and culinary club. She is driven by her passion and dedication to helping others. Outside of school, Sophia works as a student intern with Kristi Deputy of Waukesha Family Services. Additionally, she also works for Brightstar Home Health as a caregiver to the elderly and disabled.
An activist and leader in her community, Sophia’s latest project is one called Warriors Wear Red, an event established through the Pewaukee School District, Pewaukee boys basketball team, and Special Olympics. Sophia details the purpose and impact of the project, saying
“It funds and cultivates social inclusion within our community, with proceeds going to our Best Buddies, Special Olympics, and other inclusive programs.”
Looking ahead, Sophia is excited to pursue higher education in social work. “I plan on getting my master's and undergraduate in this field so that I can eventually work as a full-time social worker.”
Join us in celebrating Sophia as our Superhero of the Week! You can hear her story on The Varsity Blitz show this Saturday, January 13 at 10:00 am on The Big 920 and your iHeart radio app.
