Electrical Problems in Milwaukee, WI
One-room power outage possibly caused by tripped breaker. Avoid electrical problems in Milwaukee.
Everyone has experienced a power outage at least once in their life – lights go out, sitting by candlelight, trying to figure out how to pass the time. Typically, the cause of a power outage is inclement weather, resulting in power lines being down. But, what happens when you don’t have any rain or wind and just one room in your home seems to be powerless?
Causes of one-room power outages in Milwaukee
The most likely cause of a one-room power outage is a tripped breaker. To remedy this, unplug all the appliances in the room since one of them more than likely caused the safety device to blow. Then, locate your fuse box and note which switch is down – that’s the one that tripped. Flip it up to restore power.
If you flip the tripped switch on and your room has still not regained power, check your socket plates for a GFCI receptacle – a safety device located in the middle of the plate between the upper and lower socket. You’ll see two buttons – “test” and “reset.” Try clicking the reset button, and if it has been triggered, you’ll be able to depress it completely. If your power loss had to do with the GFCI outlet, resetting it should restore power.
What if those solutions don’t work?
Once you check the breaker, and/or the GFCI outlet, your power should come back on. However, if it hasn’t, there could be a bigger issue going on, such as faulty wiring or a defective breaker. You don’t want to try and fix any larger electrical problems on your own. That’s why we’re here!
