Why Smart Businesses Are Going Solar Today.

• Energy Costs Are Rising: Since 2000, the cost of energy for local businesses has doubled and will continue to increase.

• Sustainability Matters More Than Ever: According to a 2024 PwC survey, consumers are willing to pay a 9.7% sustainability premium, even as cost-of-living and inflationary concerns weigh.

• Incentives Are Here Today, Not Tomorrow: Solar tax credits won’t be around forever. By acting now,  you can substantially reduce your tax liability for the following tax year.(ends July 1, 2026)

Why pay extra in taxes and energy costs when you can invest in your own solar energy solution?

Federal Tax Credit

The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows businesses to deduct 30% of the cost of installing solar systems from their federal taxes.

Key Benefits:

Reduces Costs: Lowers your investment in solar by 50%, on average.

Accelerated Payback: Cuts the time it takes to break even on the system, typically to 5-9 years.

Eligibility: Applies to U.S.-based businesses that install new solar systems before 2032. For example, if your system costs $100,000, you can claim a $30,000 tax credit, significantly reducing your federal tax liability.

Wisconsin State Solar Incentives For Businesses

Wisconsin offers several incentives to help reduce the cost of installing solar on commercial and multifamily properties.

Focus on Energy Solar Rebates

Focus on Energy provides cash rebates to eligible businesses that install solar photovoltaic systems.

  • $50 per kW (DC) for each additional kW beyond 4 kW

  • Maximum rebate of $25,000 per project

Property Tax Exemption

Solar energy systems are exempt from property tax increases.
Even though solar adds value to a building, it will not increase the property’s assessed value for tax purposes.
