Solar Electric System Requirements
To qualify for Focus on Energy incentives, all of the following requirements must be met:
System capacity must be 0.5 kW DC or greater
System must be installed within 135 degrees of due south
Panel tilt must be between 5 and 50 degrees
System must have less than 15 percent obstacle shading based on an industry-accepted shading analysis tool
Equipment must be selected from the Solar Electric Qualified Equipment List found in the supporting documents section
Agricultural Producer Incentive Match
Businesses classified as agricultural producers may qualify for an incentive match of up to $10,000.
Agricultural producers are defined as businesses engaged in the production of:
Grain
Livestock
Milk
Poultry
Fruits or vegetables
Bees and honey
Fish or shellfish
Other common agricultural products, including greenhouses

- Annual Savings: The system generates around 200,000 kWh of electricity each year, reducing the school’s energy costs by approximately $12,500 in usage charges and $3,250 in demand charges.
- Long-term Financial Benefits: Over 30 years, the district is expected to save $612,461 on electricity, with a positive cash flow of $154,993 and a 7.8% internal rate of return (IRR).
